Questions parents ask
Why can’t it analyze my streaming film directly?
Streaming video is encrypted, and breaking that encryption is illegal — so ParentFilter never touches the stream. Guides are built from files families lawfully own, on their own computers, and during streaming playback the extension reads only the clock, never a frame. One household with a file analyzes a film once; every streaming household can use those timings.
Does ParentFilter change my movie file?
No. ParentFilter never creates an altered copy of any movie. Filtering happens live during playback, at your direction — when the movie ends, your file is exactly what it was before.
How does ParentFilter know what is in a movie?
An AI-generated report card describes what parents should know — age guidance and what's in the film, category by category — before anyone watches a frame. Every guide is labeled as AI-generated and may contain errors; the methodology page explains how ratings are built, and the corrections page explains how to challenge one.
